From Trauma to Ritual, Surgery to Sensory Healing
The Neuroaesthetic MD™
Art is the Medicine. Healing is the Evolution.
“You take care of everyone else—now it’s your time to heal.”

I Was Trained to Cut. Now, I Teach Women to Feel.
I began my career as one of the first Black female pediatric surgeons in Texas. It was a milestone—but also a mask.
Surgical training rewarded emotional silence. It mirrored my childhood, where I was taught that feelings made you weak and perfection kept you safe. I carried that survival script into medicine, marriage, and motherhood—until it broke me.
I wasn’t just burned out. I was emotionally bankrupt, living in what Dr. Stephen Porges would later help me understand as a state of functional freeze. That’s when I began a journey I now call the Neuroaesthetic Reset™.

A Diagnosis I Never Saw Coming: Alexithymia
At midlife, I finally learned I wasn’t just “too sensitive” or “cold.” I had undiagnosed traits of autism and alexithymia—a condition that made it nearly impossible to name or feel my emotions.
I was a Black Gen X woman who had spent decades doing, not feeling. And like so many women I now serve, I had been over-functioning to survive, dissociating to cope.
That’s when art became my lifeline.

From Canvas to Clinical Practice
When I couldn’t describe how I felt, I painted it.
When I couldn’t explain my needs, I created sensory rituals that showed them.
Through art, ritual, color, and neuroscience, I reclaimed the fragments of myself I thought were lost. That healing became my life’s work.
Today, I’m a lifestyle medicine physician, PhD candidate in neuroaesthetics, and certified color psychology expert. My practice blends emotional neuroscience, sensory anchoring, and trauma-responsive design.
How I Hold Space
The Work I Do Now
I help women—especially those with late-diagnosed neurodivergence or unresolved trauma—regulate without shame, reconnect without scripts, and rewire through ritual.
My signature program, The Neuroaesthetic Reset™, integrates:
- Color psychology as emotional language
- Lifestyle medicine as nervous system care
- Ritual as modern neuro-regulation
Everything I teach, I’ve lived. My art, coaching, and clinical guidance are not just informed by science—they’re infused with my own healing.
